Volgende week donderdag vlieg ik naar Canada, om drie weken poedersneeuw te zoeken.
Deze week ben ik dus bezig met het prepareren van de ski's, ik heb nog niet overal inserts in zitten. Ik ben van plan twee paar bindingen mee te nemen, de onvolprezen Pivot natuurlijk, maar ook een Marker Duke, voor als we gaan hiken. Deze bindingen gaan gewoon in de bagage, zodat ik vier paar ski's in de skitas kwijt kan, de Original, de CrudCrusher, de MightyMama en de Stealth.

Om toch nog even voor de laatste keer de gear te testen en om de benen soepel te houden zocht ik echter afgelopen weekend ook de poeder op. Ik pakte gewoon de original, dat blijft toch een heerlijke ski in elk terrein:

Gewoon omdat het een leuk filmpje is en omdat je goed kan zien hoe interessant het terrein in Valfrejus is, hier een edit van het seizoen van Anthony Slavenburg. Deze Franse freerider met ambities, dit jaar wil hij in elke wedstrijd die hij rijdt een backflip springen, en over twee jaar moet zijn naam op de deelnemerslijst van de grote wedstrijden staan, heeft twee jaar geleden een serie BMB-ski's getest. De ski's die hij wenst zijn een verschrikking voor de normale skier: Kneiterstijf, nauwelijks radius en verschrikkelijk lang. Voor ons zeer leerzaam om zulke extreme ski's te maken. Het gebruik van carbon bleek onontkoombaar. Sindsdien weten we goed hoe carbon, ook bij ski's of boards met een normalere flex, te gebruiken is.
